The Kean Anime Society is club for people interested in anime, manga, and Japanese culture. We host various events, including watch parties, cosplay events, group trips, etc. Everyone is welcome to join, whether you are long-time fans or new to anime.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a community and safe space for people who enjoy and are familiar with Japanese media and anime, introduce new forms of expression to people on campus, and reach out and present Japanese media and anime to those unfamiliar with the subject.

Our Values
Section 1
Various forms of artistic and self-expression are invited, while respecting boundaries related to:
- Political
- Racial
- Religious
- Sexual
- Differing abilities
Section 2
We do not tolerate any form of the following:
- Pedophilia (We acknowledge that some Japanese media may sexualize minors, but we do not accept such media as it conflicts with our Club’s ethics.)
- Racism, Sexism, Ableism, Homophobia/Transphobia, Ageism
Forms of this include:
- Hate Speech
- Derogatory Terms
- Ostracization
- Discrimination
Triggers & Sensitive Topics
We are a safe space for all, but not equipped to handle real-life situations involving:
- Suicide
- Self Harm
- Physical, Emotional, or Sexual Abuse
If these topics are expressed, the E-Board will take them seriously and contact appropriate parties, such as Campus Police or Kean’s Health and Wellness Center.
